Our first stop-Sin Yoon Loong-the birth place of the famous Ipoh Old Town White Coffee. Aromatic and creamy.

While waiting for our sar hor fun, we ordered pork and innards satay from the coffee shop next door - Kong Heng. Plate after plate will appear on your table without you ordering. Just eat as many sticks as you can and leave the rest on the plate, only the eaten ones will be charged for. Juicy, succulent and well seasoned, with a piece of fat in between the meat!
Ipoh sar hor fun is a must-have in Ipoh as the hor fun here is the smoothest you can get. Some say it's because of the high alkaline content of the mountain water in Ipoh. Silky smooth flat rice noodles served in clear chicken and prawn soup topped with shredded chicken, prawns and spring onions.
Short and fat beansprouts, only in Ipoh. Thean Chun is also famous for their caramel custard, which is usually sold out by 11am.

Also known as the 'Police Station Curry Mee'. Definitely in my top 3 list. We all had the ‘dry’ version, and they had the normal types of noodles available: yellow noodles, vermicelli and koay teow.
The special dipping sauce made of garlic, curry sauce, calamansi lime and other ingredients. Also, a separate bowl of ingredients to go with the noodles, consisting of siew yuk (crispy roast pork), char siew (caramelized roast pork), prawns, steamed chicken, beansprouts. The siew yuk was pretty good, but the char siew wasn’t amazing, a tad too lean for me.

Undeniably the most famous place for Bean Sprouts Chicken 芽菜鸡 in Ipoh. We were too stuffed to have a big plate of chicken with rice, which seemed seemed very popular, so we just had a plate of fatty beansprouts and few bowls of hor fun to share. Hor fun is is silky smooth, as is typical in Ipoh. The soup is more of a simple chicken broth with no added prawn oil, but was light and sweet, full of chicken aroma.

Silkiest, smooothest soybean curd I've ever had! They provide "drive-thru" service. Just flag down one of the workers, order, and they'll deliver your order straight to your car.

The pastry is light and flaky, with ample filling, probably double the amount typically found. The best kaya puff I have ever had! Nuff said.
