Roasted Broccoli & Strawberries with Truffle Balsamic Glaze

Saturday, 30 May 2009

The weather is so warm these days, you just want to have more refreshing dishes like salads and cold noodles. And salads I mean potato salad or fruit salad as some of you may know, I am not a big fan of vegetables. I try to avoid greens by all means. But I recently discovered roasted vegetables! I've been trying to roast all my veg nowadays and I think that's the only way I enjoy eating them. So here's a salad that has roasted veg, strawberries and balsamic glaze! I never knew strawberries taste so good with balsamic! YUM YUM! I used a balsamic glaze I bought from the food festival I went to last week.

Good stuff. The hint of truffle adds a really nice touch to the sauce. I've never had balsamic glaze before and this was my first time using this awesome sauce. Any ideas on what I can do with the rest of the bottle?

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments! We planned to have just roasted broccoli with some salt and pepper for dinner that night but I wanted to use the balsamic glaze. And I thought strawberries go really well with balsamic so I just mixed everything and it turned out delicious!

katie: It does have a Christmas feel to it! This might go into my Xmas dinner menu =)

Erica: No problem. You have a really nice blog with lots of recipes/ dishes that are new to me.

Lorraine: I didn't roast the strawberries! You reminded about them! I saw a post about roasted strawberries, might try them the next time!

Lori: Thanks for the link but I have to say I'm not a big fan of cauliflower.

Elyse: Thanks for visiting! you have a wonderful blog with yummy recipes too!

I would have never thunk it to put strawberries with broccoli. But hey I need some way to suffer through broccoli and strawberries would definitely help! The glaze is a winner for me!
You are right though, my brother introduced me to roasted broccoli and I have never done it any other way since then.
